The purpose for my paper for essay #2 was to explain how Amy Tan talks about differences. I chose this topic to write about because i can totally relate to her article ! My family is Italian so most meals are a little different then most ! There are many times where i was embarrassed or ashamed but once i started to get older i began to love that i was Italian ! Being different is a good thing and i think Amy Tan does a very good job with her article explaining how even though the young girl celebrated christmas dinner in a different cultural way, she should be proud of her culture and tradition no matter what.
